Two Door Cinema Club -- A Tourist History. To my ears it's the most perfect pop album produced in a long, long time. Like cantaloupe; sweet and addictive, while also managing to be substantial and meaningful.

Okay, cantaloupes aren't always meaningful, but the rest applies.

Astonishingly good album -- though it's 40 seconds too short to be eligible for the Choice Prize. Birrova shame, that.

I concur, great stuff. I think it is eligible for the Choice. Even though, it's less than 33 minutes, it has more than six songs so that should be enough.

"For the purposes of the Choice Prize, an album must contain six or more tracks and/OR be over 33 1/3 minutes in length (33 mins, 20 seconds)."

Btw, I see they've been bumped up to the Main Stage at Oxegen.

Interesting -- and good spot! Because that was definitely just an 'and' before. I wonder if they bent things ever so slightly for the circumstances? If so, rightly so. It would be a farce not to include it, showing a flaw with those rules -- and an 'or' is a much fairer approach.

Missing Oxegen this year, my first in some time. I would love to see them live, though.

Also, I recorded four TV ads in one break featuring their stuff this morning. Inevitable, I guess.

You might want to check out Alison Krauss or the compilation she did with Robert Plant www.robertplantalisonkrauss.com
Also, episodes of the radio show "A Prarie Home Companion" prairiehome.publicradio.org feature many bluegrass artists for guests

Agreed on the and/or thing.

TDCC got a huge crowd at Oxegen considering they were on so early. Not sure myself, but some people are saying they got more than Arcade Fire?!

Possibly, but their are factors.

TDCC were on without much competition so got a decent curious crowd.
Arcade Fire were on after Jay-Z which was a mistake as 10,000s left* after he departed which was understandable ... Although I'm a fan of both, I don't think the majority would be.

I got into the pit for AF. Great set from them, I loved it all.

* Similar happened after the Coronas, thousands just headed back to the campsite even though it was only about 4o'c. Strangest thing I've seen at the festival in all the years. Seems the kids are drinking in the campsite, & only coming in for the 1 or 2 bands during the day, then arriving in locked for the late bands.

Good points, but I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people singing along to even the album tracks during TDCC's set.

The exodus after Jay-Z was really hard to believe. Obviously, there wouldn't be much overlap between their fans, but I was amazed by just how many left and how easy it was to get up close for AF. I also got into the pit, even though I didn't make my way down until 11, after Villagers finished. I also thought AF were great and the new songs sounded promising.

That sounds like Coronas fans alright. I can't understand people who pay €250 to sit drinking all weekend.

Gord Downie - The Grand Bounce
So far I like it a lot, kinda groovin on the freshness of new music and all. :)

I hope the Bell X1 guys are working on something new while touring too, and thanks for posting the accoustic set!

Traveling in geekdom today I ran across this article http://gizmodo.com/5590916/41-people-pa ... e=true&s=i
and thought it a pleasant tangent

Boards of Canada - music has the right to children

Excellent album! bought it yesterday and it's a 12 year old gem. funny how these days i'm discovering/finally listening oldies but very goodies (Mr Scruff, electro-swing music). love that, especially these days. i've been a bit disappointed by the latest releases i bought this year.
