It never really took that many to chart in Ireland, relatively speaking.

Future Of The Left. I love these guys. They are loud and have such a lovely bite to their stage banter.

I shot this clip last week when they came back to Toronto (second time this year *ahem*Bellies!*cough*)

There's a taste of their stage banter at the end too. Enjoy!

Whitney Houston - I look to you

the queen of soul/R&B is back and she's in great form! pretty decent album (excellent first track Million dollar bill. so upbeat it's already my song of the year!). a wee bit too therapeutic at times though (she's found her strength, love found her, etc.). let's hope the next one will be funkier and she'll be on top again. rihanna and beyonce should be worried...

Well, you've got me hooked now, damn you vile woman ... I grabbed some of their old band too (McLusky).
I like the simplicity & the silliness of it.

Been listening to alot of Japandroids this week, I presume who are aware of your countrymen.

me think you've been drinking too Andy!

not currently listening to them but did over the weekend:

Delorentos - You can make sound. First listening and impressions, it sounds like the first one. but still good.
Prefab Sprout - Let's change the world with music. Don't know what to think of that one. sounds like their 80s music with a modern take on it. will have to listen to it again before i conclude it's not very good. disappointed after reading the critics.
And some good old reliable ones, The essence of swing and The essence of Artie Shaw. Two brilliant double cds. :D

I could be wrong on this, but I think it is an 80s album, that wasn't released at the time because of Record Label Nonsense.

it would make sense, or else, the guy hasn't really progressed musically in the last 20 years....

Et voila.

It was originally schelued for release in '93, so you could be right about musical progression from the 80s sound.

mmm... i see. not sure it will change my final opinion on it. i don't think the 80s sound has aged that well.

Listening to Two door cinema club on their myspace.

needed my bro to tell me about them. according to the french "wanna be cool" music bible-mag Les Inrockuptibles, they're the next big thing to watch for from Ireland... Anyone knows them? they're playing the button factory on March 6. might go.

Bic Runga - Drive

It's an old album, but it's back on my mp3 player this week, cause one of the songs kept popping into my head all last month. :)

Joe Donnellan likes this.
