Went to see Frost/Nixon. Ron Howard confirms once again that he's the best storyteller on screen. despite the fact that everybody knows the end, you watch that 2h story without being bored one second. no dead time. and i left still disliking Nixon.
Also, i wonder if there are any parallels to be drawn between that story and G.W. Bush. I found some similarities. anyone else did?

Loved Frost/Nixon. Great display from both leads and who could have known that Richie Cunningham from Happy Days would become this great storyteller with the ability to waive both a strong story and strong performances from his actors.

which confirms imo that good cinema is about the director and the story. the Cohen brothers have proved it many times too.

I remember really enjoying Backdraft, despite the subject. i mean, i've no interest in house fires. and yet, a very captivating movie. Apollo 13 is up there too. great camera work. he's neat.

No offense Nathalie, I like your idea of this topic, but I absolutely HATED Two Days in Paris - hated it! Did anyone out there see it?
Two older films I would suggest - just my opinion! - are Babette's Feast and Tampopo.
