Sentimentalist: “Light Catches Your Face” is absolutely gorgeous, and feels like the true love song on the record. What can you tell me about that one?”
Noonan: “It’s for my mammy.”
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Ah! I thought it must be, it reminded me of MY mammy whenever i heard it first!

The session from the Ian Dempsey show is up on the Today FM site. They played The Great Defector and The Curtains Are Twitchin'.

I always think Ian Dempsey sounds a bit like someone's dad in an interview, in a sweet way. He knows his stuff but it's the way he says things, like the list of lyrics he read out :)
Thanks for the link!

Here's a review of The Great Defector from Planet Sound, the first I've seen which doesn't mention Talking Heads.

BELL X1 The Great Defector 8/10
Previous album Flock somehow failed to make them as huge here as in Ireland. A long break means any momentum is lost, but this is still a mighty pop song despite the new synth-funk leanings. Like Blister In The Sun going yampee.

And a couple of American reviews of Blue Lights:

I wouldn't be so delighted. Two fuckin' Colplay references? I mean for f**k sake. Still though 71 ain't bad.

That's where I'd love to be right now but the match is on and it's slightely cold for the beach even though it's a fantastic day out
