Gigs in 2009

Postby Nathalie » Thu Dec 11, 2008 2:35 am

So, who has what planned for next year?

Me, absolutely nothing. i'm so broke that gigs are towards the end of my "social life expenditure" list. Don't even want to look at who's playing. but maybe you can tell me...

Oasis... wouldn't mind seeing them again if they had good new songs. previous last 2 albums were rubbish. how's the latest one (they did release one recently, didn't they?) Did see them in cork in 95 or something :?

Agree about the last 2 albums...I've only heard one song of the new album but it's brilliant. Don't really care about the new album, I just hope they play alot of the oldies (If I get a ticket that is!!) That would be such a chill out gig in Slane I really wanna goooo!

I'm not sure what that means, but 14yrs after the Cork gig that Nath was on about (I was there too ... 94 was Slane, 95 was Cork) Oasis have The Prodigy supporting them.

Oasis are too hit & miss live for me to spend that much money. When they're good, they are good, but when they are bad they are rotten.

I'm getting the ticket as a present so it is all good.

They are just one of those bands I want to see, like Radiohead, I never thought I'd get the chance to see either of them two bands and I was always jealous of my sister going to see them in the 90s and I was too young to go. :(

And we're off for 09 .... I picked up tickets to Dan le Sac vs Scroopius Pip, Deerhunter & Gaslight Anthem.

Hey Nath, I see Q-Tip is arriving into town in March, playing TBMC.

I was at The Mighty Boosh a couple of weeks ago.
Going to one of the Bell X1 Vicar St shows.
Coldplay in Phoenix Park.
Counting Crows in May (although considering selling these tickets as they were disappointing at Oxegen last year).
Choice Music Awards in March.
Oxegen.
Electric Picnic. (highlight of my year every year!).
Saw Drs at the end of April.
The Fr Ted Festival in Feb. It's going to rock! :)
Solas Festival if it goes ahead this year.
I have 8 days left to pay off the remainder of my Glastonbury ticket. Still in two minds about whether to go or not. Yikes!
Edited to add in Dylan Moran in Sept, can't wait! :)

...and I'm hoping the rumours of Garth Brooks coming to Ireland in 2009 are true!!! :)

^ That's some list! And it's only January. :D

I just bought my tickets to see Lisa Hannigan in March - she's FINALLY headlining her own show in Toronto. YAY. :D

Yep, I'm very organised! haha :)

I'm a bit of a gig-a-holic. I was at the Razorlight show in the Olympia, Bell X1 in Vicar St in Nov, The Blizzards 98fm charity album launch night, Kings of Leon in the o2 and Coldplay in the o2, all in Nov/Dec.
My poor poor credit card! :)
