Charity Album featuring Bell X1

Postby Sparks n' Mind » Tue May 05, 2009 4:19 pm

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to inform you of a new album coming out soon, called "Sparks n' Mind".
All proceeds from the album are going to "Aware", an organisation dealing with battling depression. http://www.aware.ie
Many established Irish acts feature on the album, such as Lisa Hannigan, Republic of Loose and Damien Dempsey, to name but a few.
All the tracks on the album are cover versions of songs that inspired the artists to start performing.

Bell X1 have recorded an amazing cover of the Bruce Springsteen track, "No Retreat, No Surrender".

Please visit our Myspace page for more information and to keep updated on the album.

Cheers!

thanks for the info.

damo and the bellies, mmm... i wonder if they could sing something together one day. their styles are quite far apart. Mully, what do you think? could it work?
And by the time we stand on our own two feet, we're standing there alone.

Oh my god :O That's fab news. The cause is brilliant. People in my family suffer from depression so it's nice to see some awareness and campaigning going on musically Plus the artists are fantastic. No retreat, no surrender is my favourite Bruce song so should be beautiful to hear the bellies covering it!! Definitely will be making that purchase!! Fair play, i mean it

I think Damo would do a damn fine version of Flame, given its basically a spoken word song.

If they were to do a song together, I reckon Damo's reggae influence would sit well with the Bellies.

See, when i think of them and him together, i can only picture damo with his electric guitar and paul with his mad max guitar. i wouldn't look for a slow or poppy song. for that, they would do a great job no doubt. but a mix of their rock side, i would be interested to hear the results. basically, i'd like "a song that's got balls". (the hardcore damo fans should get it!)
