I presume its a case of economics ... I remember the Frames doing similar a few yrs back.
Bellies are touring at the moment, A few nicely priced dates in Ireland helps towards the costs of these tours. You go where the money is.
Looking at the US prices, they can see the lads for €8.
Ticket prices in general seem to be immune to the recession. Look at the Point v2 selling out on a constant basis.
On think I've noticed since I moved to Belfast, is that the 'sold out' signs don't go up after a mins of going on sale.
I'm off to buy tickets to Editors & The Cribs this evening. This wouldn't be possible in Dublin because of the hypemachine.
I just checked, Flo + Machine tickets still available for the Ulster Hall. Olympia sold out in mins.
