i went to 4 or 5 only as well last year. all belly gigs. what can you do...

gonna have to move my bum this year though. on the subject, went to see Ray Collins Hot Club. they're excellent. German band, real 50s style. the dublin swingers loved them!

How'd you manage to get tickets? They seemed to sell out almost straight away and I missed out ... again.

Fair play, you must have been early. I tried on the internet but was told they were sold out at 9am.

I missed Frank Turner last week because I was ill. :(

Otherwise I have Editors to look forward to on 16 February! :D

So far this year been to see:

Seasick Steve
Editors
Kasabian

Kasabian was probably the highlight. Venue was similar in size to the Olympia and it was absolutely hopping! The other two gigs were excellent too. Great to hear the songs from "In This Light..." live at the Editors gig.

Tempted to go see The Cribs in a couple of weeks. Really liked "Ignore the Ignorant" and what with Jonny Marr being on board, I reckon the gig will be well worth the $60.
While we're on the subject, can we change the subject now?

Air's playing in the Olympia this month. 2 dates. waiting to see if mate can get standing tickets. not paying 50 euros to be seating high up in the balcony. still though. isn't that strange they're not sold out? is Air not cool and popular anymore?

That to an extent, plus I think the price could be a little high for some people.

And just saw The Aftermath is playing the Academy next week. I really recommend those Mullingar guys. They're very good...
