December Irish Tour

Postby Colm » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:43 pm

Six dates announced for Ireland in December, with Jape as support ! :D
No Dublin gig yet, but surely they'll add one, won't they?

Also, Sugar High is the new single.

They have to have one in Dublin. Wouldn't be xmas without them around for a gig. Please? :)
And by the time we stand on our own two feet, we're standing there alone.

Maybe Santy might leave Brian under your tree too if you're lucky

Well, I can dream of it as I don't believe in Santa. Nevermind i really don't think Brian would be that happy to land under my tree. And we all want Brian to be happy, don't we? :D

I see Jape is tagging along on the Irish Tour ... Hopefully he pops over to the UK too !!

Brilliant gig, as ever, in the Olympia last night.

Twas strange starting so late and not having a support band, but it meant the crowd was in good spirit by the time the Bellies started, which made for a lively atmosphere! :D The lads were wearing fetching Christmas jumpers by the way: https://twitter.com/#!/BellX1/status/14 ... 76/photo/1 and they played two or three Christmas songs, with the rest of the setlist split between the last four albums (nothing from Neither Am I :( )
Highlights for me were Reacharound, How Your Heart Is Wired, Alphabet Soup with a snippet of Once In A Lifetime, Tongue (as always!) and a really good encore of an acoustic Rocky Took A Lover with a bit of Fairytale of New York at the end, a great version of Sugar High and finishing with I'll See Your Heart and a bit of Horse Outside, strangely enough. ... oh and of course, Dom singing Last Christmas! :D

Setlist (probably not 100% in order):
Little Drummer Boy
Velcro
Ribs Of A Broken Umbrella
Reacharound
Hey Anna Lena
Next To You (Last Christmas)
Four-Minute Mile
Eve
How Your Heart Is Wired
Alphabet Soup (Once In A Lifetime)
The Great Defector
Tongue
Flame

Rocky (Fairytale Of New York)
Sugar High
I’ll See Your Heart And I'll Raise You Mine (Horse Outside)

I agree. Great gig. Very festive, full of life. Loved it. Perfect end of year gig. Tongue was amazing. :D

Thanks lads. You made my weekend.

I had completely forgotten I had registered here.

The gig at the Olympia was amazing! Loved the random excerpts from Christmas songs, it was my last gig of 2011 and it was a great way to end it.
